Today, we learned how writers create a clear line of reasoning by connecting a claim, evidence, commentary, and conclusion. Which part of building an argument is most challenging for you, and why?

The most challenging part was writing commentary. It was challenging because I had a hard time connecting it with evidence. In my heart I knew the answer but writing it out was difficult for some reason. I also hard a hard time with the explanation. I think I’ll be faster with more practice.

Today we practiced making a clear line of reasoning by using claim, reasoning, evidence, etc.

This lesson helped me understand how each argument has a connection. Like of reasoning makes an argument clear.

Think about an argument or disagreement that you wish you could have handled differently. What happened, what was your goal, and what would you do differently now? Use at least one idea from Chapters 1–3 of Thank You for Arguing in your response.

Which learning method do you enjoy the most? Class discussions, worksheet work, or hands-on activities. Select one and tell why.
