Prompt: Talk about a time when you had to write a poem, whether it was for an assignment, event, or special occasion. What was the writing process like for you, and were you proud of the finished product?

I was given an assignment to write a poem for school. To start with, I decided on a topic and made a few notes about it. Next, I arranged my ideas into lines and altered some of the words so that the poem would sound better. At first it was a bit difficult, but I did enjoy seeing it take shape. I was proud of the poem when I had finished it since I had put in a good amount of effort.

In class, we analyzed poetry that compared poets to acrobats.

I learned how to better analyze poetry that I may not understand at first. I also learned how to break down metaphors more easily.
